Kate's Take: Former Contestant Blogs About Final Four

Following an entertaining, enlightening interview with Kate after her elimination last week, we asked this former contestant to share her thoughts on the latest episode of Stylista.

And, rest assured, the often-criticized, misunderstood competitor held nothing back...

Kate's Take: I think Zac Posen said it best last night: "This is a bore, snore!" How could four people make something so amazing into something so dreadfully boring?

I think I've finally figured out what the show lacks, and until these people develop some specific traits, I don't want them on my TV screen or being responsible for my sun-tan-in-Cabo reading material. Someone train them in the following: charisma, a sense of humor, person ability, passion, quirkiness, kindness, ethics, humility and talent.

Last night, we started off with the final four, as the contestants were asked to pick out Elite models to fill a beautiful Posen dress. Megan picked the best model. Does that mean Megan has some innate fashion sense? No, it just means that Megan's idea of beauty was standing next to her.  For the first time, I said: "Oh I see, so you like curves and sex appeal. Well, that explains all too much."

Kate

Ashlie's model was stunning, but I understand that she was too petite. Johanna just showed the world last night her idea of beauty. This is the point where I called my mom on the phone and said: "Oh f*ck, what is that?"

Good God, Johanna, you are in the running to be a fashion editor at Elle. You picked a model that has skin lighter than the dress, and couldn't even fill the design, to the point where the bust line was concave??? Why am I not there? Really, people?

Remember last week, when I took three swimsuits? They had been in the closet for almost 20 minutes when I took them, as the other team had ample opportunity to take swimsuits if they wanted them. But last night Dyshaun took an entire closet of shoes. Playing dirty or just playing wrong?

When Megan and Johanna's models came down the runway in shoes that didn't complement the collection, I didn't laugh. I didn't think it was funny. I thought it was rude to take a new designer's collection and sabotage it with shoes that didn't work.

However, I have to hand it to Megan and Johanna for making up for it with beautiful hair and makeup. The Boy George look did not work for those Jolibe clothes because the eyebrows distracted me from looking at the dresses. Also, poor Johanna's insecurity got to her. If she had said one more time, "This is my first show," I thought I would pull a Wayne's World moment and interject like Wayne did at the gas station.

During the runway show, I think Megan demonstrated the most confidence and kept herself together well. Ashlie also worked really hard.  What bothers me about Ashlie is why she stays so quiet during judging. She loses the fire that I saw in her while living and working with her in front of the judges. She's praised for her professionalism, but where did that get her?

My wrap-up?

Ashlie stayed true to that great personality we've seen all season. The meanness didn't stop, proving to the world that I wasn't the problem; I was just the chosen target. DyShaun and Megan attacked each other in a boring way, and Johanna just shriveled up and typed.  No one got too excited over the layouts for either team. My favorite Stylista, Anne, seemed to have a bout of the sniffles, and Zac Posen really just wanted a Britney dance party and a cocktail.

I don't know who I want to win. I just know that I'm coming back next week. I look refreshed since I've been skipping about as a free person, following my dismissal last week. This time, I'm coming to spice things up.

After all, Elle already decided this little fire ball was not the right fit.

My God you are the most self centered brat ever. So cocky. Showing up next week will just put the nail in your coffin. What does "spicing things up" mean? Making it hell for people who deserve to be there (except Dyshaun)? I hope Cologne and William come back too, because they actually deserved to be on the show, and possibly win. You are such an attention whore- and just because you admit it, doesn't mean it's a good thing.

don't call kate that!!!!!!!!! i saw in a preview that all the eliminees come back! u just need to calm down!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  3. Nik Says:

To everything you said Kate: ditto.

When they kicked you off, I knew this show was a hoax.

  4. Mike Says:

You think you possess all the qualities that you listed as lacking in the remaining contestants? Certainly humility isn't something you have a lot of. I hated you from the start and every interview or comment you've made post show, from anti-gay slurs, to condemning those over 28 without a husband, has simply cemented how vile and repugnant a person you are.

  5. Kate Says:

I've already responded publicaly on many differen websites, including ELLE and my own to the FALSE report started by Megan and Johanna that I used anti-gay slurs. It's a lie. Look it up in the dictionary. LIAR. Megan, Johanna you might want to look up what that means too. You also might want to look up the words context and provoke and gender discrimination. Write out your definitions a few hundred times and then get back to me.

In regards to condemning those without a husband over 28, again another statement out of context. I said I'd like to be married and settled by that age and solidified in my career. I feel like 10 years is ample time to do this in. My personal goals and opinions are my own, not to be confused with condemning those that don't wish the same for themselves. I'm definitely on the path to accomplishing my career goals already and at my young age I've achieved so much. It's ok to see a young woman do well and encourage other females to work hard from the minute they enter this world. I'd like to be married for a few years before I have children especially considering the cost of housing and economic adaptation in California. If this makes me vile, well sir, your definition is different than our dear Webster.

  6. Mike Says:

In your Elle article you said that you did say the word, after being bullied. You said the same thing in your blog and on project rungay. As a gay man, I consider this vile, no matter the cause. I am not a LIAR, as you say, I am simply repeating facts that other contestants and YOU stated. No matter what, it should not have been said. I am well aware of the definitions of context, provoke, and gender discrimination. F*g is an anti-gay slur, which you admitted to saying. End of story.

You did not add any of the economic reasons for being married before you have children to your project rungay post. You simply were taking petty swipes at Johanna. You did the opposite of encouraging people to accomplish their goals if they are not the same as those you set for yourself. I, for one, am not fooled by your "I'm standing up for myself" rants on the show or off, I believe you to be an arrogant young woman who does not think before she speaks. Any words you don't understand, you are more than welcome to look up, write down a few hundred definitions and get back to me.

  7. Jacob Says:

Kate! I miss you on the show! It certainly is A LOT more boring without your beautiful face to brighten the room at Elle! Right now, they are running re-runs on VH1 of the season so far, and Kate, you make me laugh and smile every five minutes of every episode! Ignore this Sam and Mike person, because you know you are beautiful and that you posses every quality you mentioned that Megan, DyShaun, Johanna, and Ashlie were missing! I love you Kate and I keep up with you on your blog website www.stylistakate.com and I can't wait to see you on the next episode when you come back! My TV screen has been dark for to long! Love you Kate! =]

  8. MRH Says:

I am not a fan of yours. On the show, you were a disaster, and your shameless self promotion post production is pathetic. I was, however, totally appalled and disgusted by those comments posted here that have now been removed. They were sick, and I'm sorry that you had to read them. You do have some enemies Katie, that much we know, but those several comments made my stomach turn- and no one deserves to hear such things about themselves.

  9. Adriana Says:

I really enjoyed watching the show especially you. You made the show and maybe you were not the right candidate you entertained me by sharing your thoughts on your competitors. You said things that many people would only think of saying. Though it should have been kept to yourself and with years you will mature more and will know when to say what. This has to be a good reason why you were placed in the show. Ratings and very sure you helped cause you had me watching the show. Overall love the concept and they need very competitive people. Keep us all posted what you will be doing next. MySpace-Facebook.....The most honest person or the best actress.
